Events D’lux transformed Krimson Park in Downtown Dallas into a modern luxury celebration with classic vintage elements. The venue’s rustic character and multiple pillars became part of the design through custom donut tables, a vinyl walkway aisle leading to the dance floor, two 12ft king tables, suspended candle chandeliers, rotating fringe centerpiece lamps with LED bulbs, baroque-inspired draping, ivory florals, a magazine photo booth, and oversized two-sided photo prints.
This event is a perfect example of how professional event design is not just about choosing beautiful décor. It is about understanding the venue, the floor plan, the guest experience, and how every design element works together.
Every venue has a personality. Some venues are clean and modern. Some are grand and traditional. Others have a rustic charm that needs to be carefully balanced with the design vision.
For this event at Krimson Park in Downtown Dallas, the venue had a rustic feel with exposed wood and several structural pillars throughout the room. Instead of seeing those pillars as a design problem, we saw them as an opportunity to create something intentional, memorable, and visually balanced.
The goal was to transform the space into a modern luxury event while still incorporating classic vintage elements. We wanted the design to feel elegant, dramatic, layered, and cohesive without completely fighting the natural character of the venue.
One of the biggest challenges in this space was the floor plan. The venue came with several pillars throughout the room, which could have interrupted the layout, blocked sight lines, and made the design feel disconnected.

In event design, challenges like pillars, low ceilings, unusual room shapes, or fixed architectural features cannot be ignored. They affect guest flow, table placement, focal points, photography, and the overall experience.
For this event, we decided not to hide the pillars. We designed around them.
To make the layout feel intentional, we wrapped six of the pillars with custom donut tables. This allowed the pillars to become part of the guest experience instead of looking like obstacles in the room.
The donut tables helped create balance, structure, and a sense of purpose around the existing architecture. This is one of the key differences between event décor and event design. Décor fills a space. Design studies the space and creates a plan that makes every detail feel connected.

Another major design feature was the custom vinyl walkway aisle leading directly to the dance floor. This created a beautiful visual path through the room and helped guide the eye toward the center of the celebration.

On each side of the aisle, we placed two 12ft king tables. These long tables added drama, symmetry, and a strong focal point to the room. They also helped frame the walkway and gave the overall layout a more elevated, editorial feel.
The dance floor became the anchor of the design, with the aisle, king tables, and surrounding tables all working together to create a cohesive flow.
The room also included six regular round tables, each designed with scale and impact in mind.
Three of the round tables featured large hoops suspending candle chandeliers, adding height, warmth, and visual interest. The other three round tables featured black risers topped with XL floral arrangements, creating another layer of dimension in the room.
This mix of table styles helped the space feel dynamic instead of flat. In a large venue, scale matters. Small centerpieces can easily disappear, especially in rooms with high ceilings, exposed beams, or large architectural details. For this event, we used height, texture, and movement to make sure each section of the room felt designed and intentional.
One of the most memorable details of the event was the rotating 4ft fringe centerpieces used on the king tables.
To make them even more dramatic, we added LED bulbs so they looked like statement lamps. The movement of the fringe, combined with the soft glow of the lighting, brought a modern yet vintage-inspired feeling to the tablescape.

These pieces added personality, texture, and a sense of surprise. They were not just centerpieces; they became part of the room’s atmosphere.
To soften the rustic features of the venue, we used lots of fabric throughout the design. Baroque-inspired draping added classic elegance, while suspended architectural draped pieces brought movement and drama to the center of the room.
Ivory florals were used generously throughout the design to brighten the space and create a romantic, elevated look. The combination of ivory flowers, flowing fabric, candlelight, fringe, and structured table layouts created a modern luxury event with classic vintage elements.

The goal was not to make the venue look like a completely different space. The goal was to elevate the space in a way that felt intentional and beautifully layered.
A luxury event should also give guests beautiful places to interact, take photos, and remember the experience.
For this production, we included a magazine-style photo booth and four giant two-sided 5ft x 10ft photo prints. These statement photo elements helped create a more immersive guest experience while also adding scale and visual impact to the overall room design.

Photo moments are no longer just an extra detail. For many modern events, they are part of the guest experience and part of how the event lives on after the night is over.
The final design transformed Krimson Park in Downtown Dallas into a modern luxury celebration with classic vintage details. The rustic venue, multiple pillars, and existing architecture were not ignored. They were considered, planned around, and turned into part of the final design story.
This is what full-service event design is about.
It is not just about renting beautiful pieces. It is about understanding the room, solving layout challenges, creating focal points, managing scale, and designing an experience that feels cohesive from every angle.
At Events D’lux, we believe luxury is not only in the details. Luxury is in the planning, the flow, the scale, the emotion, and the way guests feel when they walk into the room.
Yes. A rustic venue can absolutely feel luxurious when the design is planned with intention. The key is to balance the venue’s natural character with elevated elements such as draping, florals, lighting, custom layouts, statement tables, and strong focal points.
When a venue has several pillars, the best approach is to design with them instead of ignoring them. For this event at Krimson Park, we wrapped six pillars with donut tables so they became part of the design and helped create a more intentional floor plan.
The floor plan affects guest flow, table placement, dance floor location, sight lines, photo moments, and the overall feeling of the room. A beautiful design can feel uncomfortable or disconnected if the layout is not planned properly.
Event décor focuses on the items used in a space, such as tables, chairs, florals, linens, and backdrops. Event design focuses on the full experience. It considers the venue, layout, guest flow, scale, color palette, lighting, focal points, and how every detail works together.
A professional event designer helps turn your vision into a complete experience. They understand how to plan around the venue, select the right scale of décor, create a cohesive design, and manage the details that make an event feel elevated and intentional.
